  • In the first photo, Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct open ocean operations using combat rubber raiding crafts. Amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), commanded by Capt. Daniel Dusek, is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations.
  • In the second photo, Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit prepare to launch combat rubber raiding crafts from Landing Craft Air Cushion 10 during open ocean operations.
  • In the third photo, Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Shanita Terry watches as Landing Craft Utility 1634 approaches the well deck of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) during well deck operations. Tortuga, commanded by Cmdr. John Barnett, is part of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations.
  • In the fourth photo, Landing Craft Utility 1651 exits the well deck of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) during well deck operations.
