Does the USAF Saga on Non Acquisition of Aircraft for the Afghan Transition Ever End?
Ed Timperlake has posted a piece on yet another stage in the evolution of the USAF non-acquisition of combat aircraft for the Afghan transition. Apparently, the USAF has investigated itself and found no criminal wrong doings in their handling of the contract.
We all would like to do self investigation.
But that is almost beside the point: Where are the planes?
And to quote Ed Timperlake:
It is time to end this never-ending acquisition charade and immediately eliminate the AT-6. This historic embarrassment to a proud and capable combat capable service that has never failed America and the troops must stop.
And this is before the question of the entrance of the PRC into the picture and all of those issues raise their ugly head.
