LSC resupplies USS Kearsarge V22 Ospreys

10/29/2010 – SLD recently visited New River Air Station and received several updates on the Osprey.  These updates are being  presented over the next several weeks in a special column. This sideshow highlights logistics support for a deployed Osprey force.

  • The first and third photos show FISCSI Site Sigonella’s Logistics Support Center coordinating with NAS Sigonella’s Air Terminal to support a last minute fleet requirement. LSC personnel loaded over 800 lbs of cargo onboard four visiting USMC V22 Osprey, providing high priority material support to USS Kearsarge, it’s Air Combat Element and Marine Expeditionary Unit. The air station provides logistical support for Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet and NATO forces in the Mediterranean area.
  • The second photo shows a USMC V22 Osprey from the USS KEARSARGE arriving at Naval Air Station Sigonella in order to support a last minute fleet requirement coordinated with NAS Sigonella’s Air Terminal and FISCSI Site Sigonella’s Logistics Support Center.
