This year it takes place in Latvia and involves participants from 10 countries including dive teams from the host nation as well as Canada, Estonia, Norway and the United Kingdom.

The aim of the operation is to clear World War One and World War Two mines that could pose a threat to shipping and fisheries, from the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

The operation also means that dive teams from different nations come together and share equipment, experience and techniques with each other.
