T-AKE Ship at Sea Replenishment Operation

11/26/2012: The Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Amelia Earhart (T-AKE 6) transits the Philippine Sea prior to pulling alongside the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) to conduct a replenishment at sea.

Bonhomme Richard, commanded by Capt. Daniel Dusek, is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is seen operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations.

  • In the second photo, the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9), far left, pulls alongside of Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler ship USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) to conduct a dual replenishment at sea with the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Tippecanoe performed a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with both ships while underway.
  • In the third photo, the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9) transits the Philippine Sea during a scheduled deployment. Denver is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
