USCG Rescue Operation At Sea

Credit: An Air Station Kodiak aircrew rescuing 4 Kodiak-based men from a burning 52-foot fishing vessel in Nakat 80 miles southwest of Kodiak, Alaska, U.S. Coast Guard District 17 PADET Kodiak, Alaska, July 11th, 2010

This type of rescue operation is only possible with a skilled crew able to coordinate the helo operations, the hoist operatons and the rescue itself on the water. Without new re-engined helicopters, the ability of the skilled professionals of the USCG are more limited than they need to be.
